About us
Zoppi's of Buxton - 60 years of Italian Ice Cream
Our History
With his wife Jean, Vincenzo Zoppi started the business after leaving his job at Ferodo brakes in Chapel-en-le-Frith. He bought his first van which was a Commer, way back in 1968 pictured in Black and White.
Vincenzo then expanded and bought another until he had a fleet of vans running through the 1970s & 1980s which his children and family friends helped to run in and around the Buxton area.
Sites which included Spring Gardens, Pavilion Gardens, Goyt Valley, Tideswell and beyond Vincenzo served ice cream to local people in Buxton until the early 2000s and then passed the business on to Gillian, his daughter.
A few years later he sadly passed away. Gillian then went on to serve ice cream for another 15 years before passing the business onto Daniel (3rd generation), who is the current owner and operator of Zoppi’s of Buxton.
Zoppi’s of Buxton have been serving freshly made Italian-style dairy ice cream to Buxton and surrounding areas since 1968.
We have served hundreds of thousands of ice creams for nearly 70 years and are still proudly serving the town’s visitors in our families’ third generation, currently in the hands of Buxton’s very own Danny Zoppi.
You can find us in front of Buxton Opera House or Spring Gardens opposite Argos, alternating between these two locations during the busy festival season.
We’re also available for hire for birthday’s, Weddings, parties, galas, village and community events and happy to consider visiting all sorts of ice cream related events and emergencies!
